Thickness Calculation For Sapphire Windows

.How To Calculate The Thickness Of Pressure Optical Window:

As a large part of the Circular optical windows and Rectangular optical windows made of synthetic sapphire and other optical materials we produced are used as pressure windows. When designing flat optical windows (without steps), we have empirical formulas that allow us to quickly know how thick windows we need to use in order to get a quote more efficient. check out the empirical formula below:

Note:  The K( Constant Minimum Safety Factor)

= 0.75 If mounted with clamped edges (see p1)

=1.125 If mounted with unclamped edges (see p2)

Th=The thickness of the design window

P=Design Pressure Difference(PSI)

R=Unsupported Diameter Of The Pressure Window

K= A Constant Minimum Safety Factor

SF= Safety Factor (4 to 6)

M= Modulus Of Rupture.
